Paul Is Dead: Blivit Breaks The Beatles
Having spent years grabbing attention making innovative original music, local band Blivit will debut "Paul is Dead," a full length performance of unique arrangements of Beatles songs at the Tin Angel in Old City, Philadelphia on January 9th, 2009 at 10:30PM. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling 215-928-0070 or visiting www.tinangel.com.
"Paul is Dead" is anything but a trite cover band project. Blivit boldly twists each Beatles classic into an astonishing original piece of music. "But you can sing along," says Jeremy Dyen, keyboard player and lead singer, "after all, it's the Beatles."
Blivit is an original band from Philadelphia that has the audacity to make keyboards sound like guitars, old marching-band drums sound like thunder and progressive music as palatable as pop-candy. They weave the fabric of the Foo Fighters, Ben Folds, King Crimson and Phish and wear the result with complete distinction. They have released two CDs, "Unhand the World," and "The Beginning." All four members of Blivit played in the award-winning Philly famed Fathead, a band who sold out Philadelphia venues, toured extensively, recorded with Grammy-Award-winning producer, David Ivory and opened for national acts such as Weezer, Ben Harper and George Clinton and the P-Funk All-stars.
