Past, Present & Future
In an era of throwbacks and constantly shifting nostalgia, Blivit is a shining example that music is still moving forward. Their carefully crafted songs and arrangements reflect many influences without borrowing too heavily from any one in particular. Each member is a talented and seasoned musician, with a desire to create and perform great rock songs, and that's just what they do...oddly enough, without a guitarist.
Audiences have been highly receptive and full of praise. Within their first year Blivit was nominated in three categories by Philadelphia music fans for the ANNUAL PHILLY MUSIC AWARDS (BEST ORIGINAL BAND, BEST BASSIST and BEST KEYBOARDIST). Music listeners around the world discovered Blivit through GARAGEBAND.COM, and rated their music so high that "Dollar Bill" won "SONG OF THE DAY" and was featured prominently for millions more to discover.
The band has developed their sound both on stage and in the studio. They performed in excess of 150 shows in their first year as a band, and it shows with ever-increasing show attendance and strong word-of-mouth buzz. They're currently putting the finishing touches on their first full-length studio recording, while maintaining a frequent performance schedule.
Before Blivit
The members of Blivit are no strangers to the music scene. In their previous musical endeavor, prog-hip-hop band Fathead, they toured extensively in the U.S., recorded with Grammy Award winning producer/engineer David Ivory (The Roots, Erykah Badu), sold out various venues, and shared the stage with dozens of national acts such as Bare Naked Ladies, Weezer, Ben Folds Five, George Clinton and Parliament, Galactic, Maceo Parker, The Roots, Moe., G-Love and Ben Harper.
